  1. First, thank you for creating this space for us to learn, share and grow richer in the beauty of who we are. “Know who you are before they have to tell you” speaks to my very being. As a mother of three beautiful black princesses i have strived to teach them their history, surround them with culture and values that honot our ancestors and instill in them a sense of pride as a people. I believe the proverb speaks to our need to define for ourselves who we are according to our ancestors and lineage. We must know for ourselves who we are so we dont full prey to other perception of us.
